Lymington had already won this fixture 2-1 earlier in the season but had fielded an ineligible player in doing so.

They had been deducted six points (the three that they had won plus a further three for fielding the ineligible player) but the FA ruled that the game had to be replayed.

This meant that Blackfield & Langley had the opportunity to close the gap to league leaders Andover Town with a victory in this replay but couldn't fully make the most of the opportunity.

Ashley Jarvis was sent off for Lymington early in the second half but the home side were at their defensive best once more and saw out the challenge from the side who occupy second in the league table.

The home side had strong appeals for a penalty midway through the second set of 45 minutes and both 'keepers were forced into making strong saves late in the game.
