The game's opening chance would lead to the first goal after Athletico conceded a free kick dangerously close to their own penalty area. Ross Kisel would score from the free kick, seemingly after Matt Fredericks was left unsighted due to a late run across his six yard area.

It would be barely a matter of minutes before Hawley found themselves with a 2 goal cushion. Alistair Mortiboys chased down a headed ball forwards and fired his side 2-0 in front.

Athletico needed to create some sort of response and it wouldn't be long until they pulled a goal back. A corner from Elliot Moody swung towards the far post and the ball settled in the Hawley net for a 2-1 scoreline.

But no sooner had Romsey found a way back into the final, their task became harder still as an agricultural tackle from Shaquille Unaka earned him a straight red card and an early trip back to the changing rooms before the half time break.

Athletico did well to hold on for the majority of the second half despite being a man down and threatened to force an equaliser all the way up until the final two minutes. However, Romsey would concede a penalty with full time approaching and Craig Smith sent the ball straight down the middle to secure the cup.
