New Milton battered Ascot's defence and goalkeeper Lisa Phillips throughout the fixture but some excellent saves from the visiting 'stopper meant that the Linnets would only lead 1-0 at half time thanks to a late breakthrough from Rebecca Ingram.

The away side rallied in the second half and captain Hannah Evans led from the front. She sent a drilled strike out of the reach of stand in 'keeper Rebecca Yeo to equalise within minutes of the restart.

Having battled back into the game Ascot would fall behind again when Katie Vince, who had been superb otherwise, conceded a penalty and Nicole Power, New Milton's captain, fired low into the bottom corner.

Again Ascot were able to pull back on level terms as Evans tucked away her second of the game shortly after but New Milton would run away with the match from there. Jones got the ball rolling with a low shot underneath Phillips before Vic Wardle and Olivia Watts added to the scoreline.

The result leaves New Milton Town 2nd in the Southern Region Women's Football League Premier Division with Ascot remaining in sixth place.
