The game started off as a relatively even affair and Newtown enjoyed much of the possession in the first 15 mintutes.

Tower Park would take longer to find their feet in the game but would eventually take the lead as Carl Phillips fired the ball in from close range after connecting with a great cross from Lewis Cannings.

It wouldn't be until the second half that they found a second.

Ross Dominey played Connor Picken, the eventual man of the match, through on goal where he rounded Lee Devlin to double his sides lead. Newtown would fight their way back into the final shortly after when substitute Charlie Ruck managed to score under pressure from Tower Park's defenders.

The tide of the game would turn for 10 minutes as Newtown put pressure on Tower Park to try and equalise, but ultimately the side in purple would catch Newtown on the counter and eventually secure the trophy.

With 5 minutes of the game to go, Ryan Turner scored with a well-judged lob to earn his side a two goal cushion. 90 seconds later and John Bailey won possession, worked into shooting range and held his composure to put the game well beyond Newton at 4-1.

Devlin would then be sent off for body checking Dominey outside the area before Bailey bounced a free off the underside of the crossbar (which might well have crossed the line) before Jesse Nash made sure with his first touch of the game.
