The opening goal for QK Southampton, who ply their trade in the Hampshire County Women's Football League Division One, would be a special one.

Defender Abbie Mason would take a free kick from near the centre circle and found the back of the net beyond the outstretched arm of 'keeper Nikki Symons.

Despite hard work from Hamble, QK would soon have a second as Beth Tidd kept hold of the ball under pressure and fired it low into the bottom corner.

The score would ultimately be 3-0 at half time as captain Jade Rogers took aim from range, around the same area as Mason before her, and sent a hopeful effort goalwards. The ball would bounce out of the despairing gloves of Hamble's goalkeeper and into the net.

Any hopes Hamble might have harboured for a second half comeback were soon wrecked as Yasmin Dicarluccio put away her sides fourth, less than a minute after the restart before the game settled.

Hamble enjoyed a good spell before QK finally put them to the sword towards the end of the game. Laura Golden made the most of a gift from Hamble and tucked away her sides fifth before Tidd added a second for her own tally, finishing at close range to bring the scoring to a close.
