An excellent save from Saints' goalkeeper Lillie Hansford was the first big talking point as she somehow kept out a point-blank range blast from the Linnets.

Two minutes later and Southampton would take the lead with only their second shot on target. Kira McClatchey would collect the ball outside of the New Milton penalty area and send a great effort goalwards from distance, leaving the Linnets 'keeper with little chance as Saints went ahead.

More good goalkeeping from Hansford would hold New Milton at bay a little while longer but eventually Freya Fish would find the bottom corner from inside the penalty area, squaring the game up once more.

It wouldn't be too long until the second half comeback was complete with another great goal. This time it was from Jodie Exley, who'd been trying her luck from range all match, and she sent a beautiful shot sailing into the Southampton net.

Saints did try to rally towards the end of the second half but the Linnets defence would prove to be too disciplined to break down easily. Hansford was called on to make a couple more saves in stoppage time before New Milton were eventually confirmed as champions.
