About South Coast Journalism
South Coast Journalism is based in Hampshire and currently reports on Football, Rowing, Sailing and many more! The website is looking to expand over the coming months into a community website that will focus on a larger variety of sports whilst staying loyal to those early clubs such as Walkford FC. The site will also give coverage to local community projects, news and clubs and is happy to list forthcoming events.
The site uses video as its primary reporting tool but written news also appears on the site.
The regular teams or Associations that are covered are the Sydenhams Wessex Football League, the Hampshire & Dorset Rowing Association, Hampshire Ladies Football League, Lymington Town Sailing Club and Southampton Solent University. South Coast Journalism thoroughly supports Women's Football and hopes to help give women's sport increased exposure.
South Coast Journalism is always looking for more teams and sports to cover. If you would like to have your team feature on the site, please get in touch with Alex using the form below. South Coast Journalism cannot guarantee it will be able to cover each match, but every effort will be made to ensure the website will give some coverage to an event.
Also, South Coast Journalism has recently started accepting written reports and photos from sports clubs all over Hampshire and Dorset. For more information, please see the Your Story page.
South Coast Journalism was set up by Alex Barnes in October 2013 after he began creating video reports for Lymington Rowing Club - reports that received a huge amount of positive responses from the Hampshire and Dorset Association and even clubs beyond that.
The first report to go up was Walkford's match against Team Solent on October 5th 2013 and slowly rowing and sailing reports were incorporated throughout the rest of the year. The latest addition to the regular features are the Team Solent Ladies FC who are a club well worth following.
In January 2014, South Coast Journalism started accepting stories from local clubs or reporters. By May 2015, we have become one of the first choice media organisations for many Wessex Football League teams and the Hampshire & Dorset Rowing Association.
