The 61st South Coast Rowing Championships and Junior Regatta took place on Saturday at Eton Dorney.

Highlights of the days racing, including all the results from the championship, junior and open regattas are available in the posted video.

Extended race footage is available as instant downloads from the rowing section of our Online Store (click here for the direct link). Junior races are also available to order.

The championships would begin with the junior regatta from the 1,000 meter mark at 9am before the open and senior regatta followed after lunch and ran the entire length of the course.

The Bideford Bowl race was the most anticipated final of the evening and it was the Itchen Imperial crew who lived up to heavy expectations to win the Men’s Senior Fours Championship.

However, the show was very nearly stolen by the J16 Boys double scull as Bournemouth and Dartmouth battled to an initial dead heat, before very little separated them in the re-row.

There was plenty of excitement across the program in beautiful conditions at Dorney Lake and the majority of those involved had a thoroughly enjoyable day.

The first championship race, the men’s masters over 40 fours final, featured the only slight incident as there was brief confusion surrounding the starting procedure. Poole took a half stroke before 'go' because of this, but that was the only minor point in a well run regatta.
