Southsea ARC hosted their annual regatta on Saturday but the usual racing between the HDARA and CARA was abandoned shortly after 3.30pm due to the weather conditions.

Highlights of the days racing is available in the posted video. Extended race footage is available as instant downloads from the rowing section of our Online Store (click here for the direct link).

Several HDARA championships could have been won on the day but, in the end, only the Men's Senior Pairs title was secured.

Luke Williams and Mark Wardell of Itchen dealt with the tricky conditions the best and took the race win, holding off Bexhill on the final run up to the line.

BTC could have won the Ladies Masters championship earlier in the day but a win for Southampton in that race means the title race continues until next week at least.

The majority of the mornings racing would be heats but there would be a handful of finals throughout. The Ladies Junior sculls race was perhaps the most entertaining. It included several capsizes and a small collision.

The HDARA will now turn it's attention to BTC regatta next weekend whilst CARA are scheduled to race at Worthing.
