New Milton Town Ladies have kept their SRWFL Division One title push on track with a 1-0 victory over Winchester City Flyers Reserves.

Olivia Jones earned the Lady Linnets the three points that allows them to close the gap a little to Ascot United, who didn’t play at the weekend.

New Milton are four points behind the league leaders but have two games in hand over Ascot, who only have one more game to play this season.

Lou Fern’s side still have three fixtures left of the 18 game campaign, including Fleet Town, who are second from bottom, and former title contenders Barton Rovers, who are now adrift in fourth.

Third place Alton Ladies are now five points behind and have played as many as Ascot, meaning that the league title is now a two horse race.

In the HCWFL Division Three, New Milton Town Ladies Reserves still have a three point lead at the top of the table, with Bursledon Ladies now second after a 5-2 win over Rushmoor Reserves.

However the entire top three, which includes Gosport Falcons, have only played one fixture between them since the 19th of March, making it difficult to carry consistent form.

New Milton Town Ladies next fixture is a friendly against Portsmouth this coming Sunday (23rd April).
